Joining Future Leaders Alliance’s international volunteer program is a simple and rewarding process. Our team supports you every step of the way—from your initial application to your arrival in Kenya or Uganda and throughout your volunteer experience.

    Interview & Program Matching

    Once we receive your application, a member of our Volunteer Coordination Team will schedule a virtual interview.

    Acceptance & Pre-Departure Preparation

    Successful applicants receive a Volunteer Acceptance Package. Timeline: 2–4 Weeks Before Departure

    Travel to Kenya or Uganda

    Upon arrival, FLA representatives will welcome you at the airport and assist with transportation to your accommodation.

    Volunteers begin working directly with Future Leaders Alliance projects and community partners.

    • Desired country placement

    Based on your interests, we match you with the most suitable volunteer opportunity.

    Upon arrival, Future Leaders Alliance representatives will welcome you at the airport and assist with transportation to your accommodation.

    During orientation, volunteers learn about:

    • Local culture and customs
    • Community expectations
    • Project goals
    • Safety procedures
    • Volunteer responsibilities

    This ensures a smooth and comfortable transition into your placement.

    Arrival Cities:

    Kenya – Nairobi or Kisumu

    Uganda – Kampala or Entebbe

    • Serve Alongside Local Communities

    Volunteers begin working directly with Future Leaders Alliance projects and community partners.

    Placement opportunities include:

    Supporting mentorship programs, leadership training, schools, and youth empowerment initiatives.

    Participating in the Pad a Girl Campaign, community outreach, and programs that support women and girls.

    Supporting business training, environmental conservation, climate action projects, and economic empowerment initiatives.

    This is where volunteers build meaningful relationships while creating lasting impact.
